2004-2012 Senior research fellow at the University of Stuttgart, department of social sciences and vice-director of ZIRN (Interdisciplinary research unit on risk governance and sustainable technology development).
Since 2012 Scientific executive director of the Stuttgart Research Center for Interdisciplinary Risk and Innovation Studies (ZIRIUS).
